So in all likelihood, Scott Pilgrim will be a bit of a box office flop, despite being a pretty rad movie. But how does this compare to the other Edgar Wright showing, Shaun of the Dead?

Shaun of the Dead brought in about $30 million against it's $4 million budget and also scored pretty well with critics.

So I guess the question is which movie did you like more? Scott Pilgrim vs the World or Shaun of the Dead?

I for one liked Scott Pilgrim just a little more than Shaun of the Dead, if only because I am from Toronto and am a bit closer to hipster culture than zombie(?) culture.

 EDIT: oops, read that wrong

as much as I love Shaun of the Dead, and even though I adore it... a lot... I'm going to say Scott Pilgrim, because I saw a lot of myself in Scott (for some reason). While it wasn't as perfect as Shaun, I do think that the hyperbolic love story combined with over the top action and excellent video game references spoke out to me in an insane fashion. Also, the book is amazing (especially how the books ended... I love that version more than the movie, but we can't be all winners..)

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World for me

@nofx4208:
Yeah the movie sorted of ended like ass. I guess that's what happens when you rewrite it at the last moment.

Shaun Of The Dead.  For film making fans, Shaun is one of the tightest funniest scripts around.  I suppose what it ultimately comes down to is the leads...

Simon Pegg is funny, likable.  The ultimate relatable every man.  Shaun is a bit of a loser, but he's funny and he genuinely loves Liz.

Scott is younger, and in typical 22 year old fashion only cares about himself and what he wants.  He cheats on Knives, breaks her heart, and mooches off of his friend Wallace to the point on absurdity.  He's a douche bag, until he gains the self respect sword.

Shaun wins by knock out.

Scott Pilgrim. I enjoyed Shaun of the dead a great deal, but the sheer ridiculousness and video game logic of Scott Pilgrim just speaks to me more than British zombie comedy.

All the way? Come on. At least the opening Universal credit for Scott Pilgrim must've made you smile before you ever did for Shaun.
