Background

Nine years before the events of the Silent Hill movie (c1995) Sharon is created by Alessa Gillespie using the remaining purity of her soul. The baby is carried to Toluca County Orphanage by Dark Alessa and discovered on the doorstep by Sister Margaret. She is soon adopted by Rose and Christopher Da Silva and is a kind and innocent child. But as she approached the age at which Alessa was burned, Sharon begins to suffer from nightmares and sleepwalking. During these episodes she screams for Silent Hill and witnesses Alessa calling to her to return. Although her parents try to help her with medication and doctors she continues to get worse. This culminates in Sharon trying to throw herself off a cliff while she is sleepwalking.

Major Plots

Rose Da Silva decides to take Sharon to Silent Hill to try and cure her sleepwalking. On the way to the town Sharon begins drawing macabre drawings of a child being torn apart by fire demons. She becomes upset at her drawing believing someone else is responsible for it and attracts the attention of local officer, Cybil Bennett at a gas station. Although the officer trys to question her Sharon states she doesn't talk to strangers and ignores the officer. Later, Cybil tries to pull Rose over but she speeds off and crashes trying to avoid an apparition of Alessa. When Rose wakes Sharon has disappeared.

Rose searches the town for Sharon following Dark Alessa, believing her to be Sharon. Eventually Rose is informed by Alessa at Brookhaven Hospital that Sharon is all that is left of her goodness. Rose is warned that the cult will eventually find Sharon and burn her alive.

Sharon is discovered in an apartment by Christabella, being hidden by Dahlia Gillespie. She is then forced to watch Cybil being burned alive by the cultists. As they prepare to burn Sharon, Rose enters the church and opens a portal through which Alessa kills the cultists who wronged her. As Sharon locks eyes with Dark Alessa during the mayhem it is implied that they merge into one. She passes out from the trauma. Eventually she awakes and returns home with her mother, although they are still trapped in the fog world.

Personality and Traits

Sharon is portrayed as a kind but confused young girl. She is loving to her parents and appears to be particularly close to her mother even though she is adopted. She appears to be drained by her constant sleepwalking and nightmares and acts shocked when exposed to violent drawings that she did herself.
