An ogre named Shrek does what he must in order to get his swamp back from the evil Lord Farquaad, encountering Donkey, Fiona and other fairytale characters.

Trivia:

An expert on armour came in to show the animators a variety of armour that they could use as inspiration for both the rescue and tournament sequences. The animators tried on the armour, studied how they moved with the armour on, and also took turns flailing different swords.
