Starfire is surprised by an unexpected visit from her sister Blackfire. It quickly becomes apparent that her visit may not be as innocent as it first seems.
As the fireworks display ends, Starfire begins to tell Robin how different Earth seems from her home planet of Tamaran. Before she is able to finish her thought, a strange creature flies past the pair, grabbing Starfire in its long tentacles. The creature, which appears to be pink robotic squid, swiftly flies away with Starfire still firmly entangled in its vice-like grip.
Starfire begins to struggle against her captor’s grip. Angrily, she fires an energy blast towards the main body of the creature. The blast is unable to penetrate the thick armor of the creature, but it is able to disrupt its functions. This momentary lapse of control is enough to allow Starfire to escape. Without a second thought, Starfire begins to run from the robot squid.
As Starfire continues to struggle against her attacker, Robin gathers the other Titans and quickly apprises them of the situation. Eager to help their teammate, Robin and the rest of the Titans hurry to the scene.
As they reach the end of the pier they find Starfire being pursued by the creature. Despite her best efforts, she is unable to escape or destroy it. Rather than continue her struggles in vain, she flies towards the other Titans in hopes that they will be able to help her defeat the robot squid.
Together, the Titans begin their unified assault on their opponent. Each member tries to destroy the foe, but their attacks are generally futile. The thick outer armor of the robot is easily able to deflect the blows. It is not until Robin takes a different approach that they are finally able to take the monster down. Leaping atop the creature, Robin is able to attack its circuitry directly. The damage to the electronics is enough to stop the creature, eventually causing it to self-destruct.
With the unknown enemy defeated, the Titans return to Titan’s Tower to investigate the matter. As they enter the main room of the tower, they are greeted by a strange woman. The woman, who bears a striking resemblance to Starfire, casually greets them. Joyfully, Starfire rushes forward, introducing the Titans to her sister, Blackfire. Returning Starfire’s jubilant hug, Blackfire presents her with a brilliant green gem known as a Centari Moon Diamond.
As Starfire marvels at the brilliant gem, Blackfire moves past her to speak with the rest of the Titans. Knowing them from Starfire’s messages, she quickly ingratiates herself with the group. Each of the Titans is quickly impressed by her friendly nature, physical abilities, and unusual feats. As the Titans fawn over their new guest, Starfire begins to feel left out.
As her feelings of loneliness grow, Starfire decides to do something with the rest of the team. She suggests that they watch a movie together. The rest of the Titans appear to be enthused about the idea, but they quickly change their minds after Blackfire mentions going to a party. With thoughts of the movie gone from their minds, they eagerly go with Blackfire to the party.
As the Titans enjoy the party, a large spaceship begins to near Earth. Onboard the ship a large red alien declares that they have found their target. He explains that the target was able to defeat one probe, but she will not be able to stop three. With that, he releases three probes; each one is identical to the pink robotic squid that attack Starfire the day before.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Starfire has decided to leave the party. She sits on the rooftop, alone, wondering if she is truly belongs. Her rumination is interrupted by Robin, who asks her why she left the party. Robin attempts to assuage her fears over being replaced by Blackfire, but before he is able to finish, Blackfire interrupts the pair. She asks Robin to dance and quickly pulls him back to the fire.
Once Starfire is alone again a peculiar noise catches her attention. She begins to investigate the source of the commotion and finds herself face-to-face with another robot squid. Without hesitation, the probe begins to attack her.
In the party below, Beast Boy sees Starfire being attacked through one of the skylights. Alerting the rest of the team, the Titans spring into action in order to save their friend. Their efforts prove to be much more difficult than during the first fight as they face three of the creatures, and not just one. They continue to fight, doing their best to contain and control all three probes at the same time.
Eventually, Blackfire decides to help them defeat their foes. With relative ease, she fires blasts from her eyes towards the marauding creatures. Each of the blast is expertly aimed exactly at the creature’s weak point, causing each one to explode with just one shot. The Titans look on, impressed, but wonder how she knew how to defeat the probes so quickly.
Later that night, Starfire decides that it is time for her to leave the Titans. Blackfire has proven to be more popular than her, and now she has proven herself more capable in a fight, leaving Starfire feeling unneeded. As she tries to fly away she is confronted by Robin. He asks her why she is leaving and tells her that she should stay.
Before Starfire can respond to Robin’s request, the pair is surprised by a pair of aliens named Kai and Kron. Standing atop a hovering platform, one of the aliens suddenly grabs Starfire. Robin attempts to catch her before the alien leaves, but he is unable to. With their target in hand, the two aliens begin to head back to their ship.
Unbeknownst to Starfire’s captors, Robin has managed to stow away on the underside of the craft. Working his way towards the top, he launches a swift counterattack to rescue his captured teammate. During the fight he disables the ship’s engines, causing it to violently crash to the ground. Moments before it hits, Robin is able to free Starfire from her containment. Together, the two fly off the doomed ship and land safely on the ground.
As they recovering from their narrow escape, Kai and Cron approach the pair. They order Starfire to come with them, saying that she is under arrest for crimes in the Centari system. Remembers that Blackfire had just returned from the Centari system, Robin realizes that they have the wrong person.
As he attempts to explain the situation to the aliens, Blackfire begins to slip away. Starfire immediately gives chase. Angrily, she confronts Blackfire for her betrayal. Blackfire ignores her accusations and begins to attack Starfire. As the two women begin to fight it becomes apparent that they are very evenly matched. The fight comes to an abrupt end as one of the aliens captures Blackfire and quickly puts her in containment before she can escape once more.
Later that night, Starfire is watching the sunrise from the roof of Titan’s Tower. Robin silently approaches her and asks if she is all right. She says that she is sad that Blackfire is gone, but she is happy that she will not be replaced. Robin tells her that Blackfire could never replace her and that he is happy that she is with the Titans.
