About

Good-girl Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) lives in the shadow of her best friend and party girl Darcy (Kate Hudson), who is currently engaged to Rachel's college crush, Dex (Colin Egglesfield). After her birthday party, Rachel and Dex sleep together, which soon turns into an affair. She struggles to choose between her friendship with Darcy and her feelings for Dex and is spurred on to make a decision by her friend Ethan (John Krasinski). But what will she decide?

Good

I'd have to say the highlight of the whole film was Kate Hudson, she really was a scene stealer. She seemed so natural and genuine in her role as Darcy and when the emotional scenes come, she can completely hold her own and convey the necessary emotion. Ginnifer Goodwin shares some great chemistry with Hudson, and while her character is one of those backboneless, virginal types, but she does a pretty good job. John Krasinski is also a highlight.

Bad

The pacing is all off, the storyline seems to stop and start without a clear, nice flow of events. There's also some plot 'reveals' that are just kind of ridiculous to be honest, and you think "really?". I also didn't like how the film tried to make Hudson's character seem like she deserved to be cheated on, plus there's a lot of scenes that make you wonder why Rachel would even be friends with Darcy. I thought the tone was way off, it tried to find comedic highlights with a serious storyline, which took away the emotion.

Overall

The acting is good, with Kate Hudson and John Krasinski being the big highlights. It's not very entertaining and it does get tiresome watch with some ridiculous twists that seem to just appear out of thin air with no substance.
