The Hunger Games return with such a sequel twist that you can't believe writer Suzanne Collins didn't think of film when writing. Catching Fire builds up with all types of subversive messaging which is interesting but also brings into relief the limitations of the genre and film.

Why is that, 'cause nobody reads the papers anymore, is that it? It's just another story in a couple days, this shitstorm, and it's wrapping paper? You know, in the middle of all this gossip and speculation that permeates peoples' lives I still think they know the difference between real news and bullshit; and they're glad someone cares enough to get things on the record and print the truth.
