A very pleasant surprise.

Super 8 was a fun and thrilling ride with way more emotion than most movies of this kind tend to have. When the music swelled up during the final scene, I got just a little choked up. It definitely reminded me of my childhood and how big movies felt back then. The only complaint I have is that I really wanted more development with the relationship between Joe and his dad. The performances of the kids also make this good movie into a great movie. I hope that Super 8 is the ET or Close Encounters for some good kids this generation and affects them the way those films affected me.
