John Connor, now an adult, is once again visited by a terminator, called the T-X or Terminatrix (it is female in appearance). Another T-101 is sent back through time to protect John once again while Skynet is on the verge of becoming self-aware.

Trivia:

Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly put up $1.9 million of his own money to make sure that the scene with the crane crashing through buildings remained intact.
