Trivia:

During production, W.D. Richter fought almost constantly with executive producer Sidney Beckerman. One morning while driving to the set, Richter passed a fruit stand and decided to purchase a watermelon and put it on the set, simply to annoy Beckerman. He escalated the gag by having Jeff Goldblum call attention to the watermelon as he and Peter Weller passed it.
