I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news (and trust me, this breaks my goddamn heart) but Emma Stone is a (wait for it)...

NATURAL BLONDE

I heard Emma Stone is a natural blonde?

I'm just happy she is in the movie. Stone is a great upcoming actress that needs more big projects like this. Though I was devastated when the quote said she is natural blonde, not natural red. I can't imagine her being blonde.

This story suddenly got weird. Casting a natural redhead for the role of a blond? And I thought she would be perfect for Mary Jane.

Emma is a natural blonde even though her mother is a redhead.  She dyed it for Superbad following a suggestion during her audition.  The sad thing is...

Fuck, who'll play MJ now?
Emma seemed like the perfect person to be cast in that role.

Hmmm, who's another actress that could play MJ?

@TheMailToad:  She has a movie called The Help coming out next year and in it she wears a blonde wig, I believe. I think the only reason is it's quicker (than washing out the red dye, I guess. Idk. I never dyed mine) and she was filming Friends with Benefits at the same time (and she has red hair there). Only time I've ever seen her with blonde-ish hair was The Rocker and well... I was one of the three who saw that.

What? She has to play Mary Jane!!

Well, there goes the whole idea that Emma Stone is a natural redhead.   =  (

Regardless, I'm psyched that they are putting Gwen Stacy into the movies in a proper fashion.  I wonder if they might pull anything out of the Spider-Man: Blue series by Jeph Loeb.

Wait. In the comics, Gwen Stacy dies. NOOOOOOOOOO!

I really wished Emma Stone was Mary Jane, she seems so perfect for the role!  It would've been absolute perfection, a match made in bliss! woof woof meow oink!

@myketuna: I'm two of three who saw that movie, lol. Actually, I didn't pay for it; I got invited to a free, preview screening of the film & enjoyed it. Underrated (though not a great film by any means). I wish I had a friend like Emma Stone was in that movie.

Sorry, for like the 5th time in a row, I've steered off-topic. Gwen Stacy I never felt much attachment to (I liked Mary Jane as a feisty, sexier foil to Peter's more upstanding, do-goody demeanor) but only good things can come from this.

Seems like a good choice

@VinceNotVance: Well, a free preview screening and hard-earned CASH is different. lol. Nah, I'm just playing. I also wish I had a friend like Emma Stone. Cuz I'd make sure she wasn't my friend for very long. a-HA! #slick

But yeah, so I'm also on topic...

She could play both roles, but Mary Jane just kind of made more sense (even though she's naturally blonde). However, when she dies, it might make a bigger splash than Mary Jane every will. She's smart if that's why she picked that role instead.
