While watching the trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man I

noticed that during the dinner scene Gwen says that "Peter lives with his

aunt and uncle." In this same scene they are discussing Spider-Man. This

leads me to believe that Uncle Ben dies after Peter becomes Spider-Man. How

will this effect Peter's motivation ? In this video I discuss this matter.

I have a strong feeling this may be only one of many fuck ups with the film. But maybe it'll be good, I don't know.

.  I remember when people threw a shit fit when Spider-Man had organic web shooters. I think it is an interesting choice to try something new with the Spider-Man origin story since it is so ingrained in anyone with even a basic understanding of comics.  If it freaks you out just think of this as taking place in an alternate universe.  I don't think it will be as good as the first two Spider-Man movies but I think it will be fun. 

It is 90 minutes so obviously it will be a trainwreck 

I have faith in Marc Webb to deliver a good movie. Fanboys need to chill. You can't just keep retelling the same story that's been told for 50 years now.

@Ghost_of_GhostDad: Uh, thanks I guess... I was one of those people who originally had a problem with the organic web-shooters before the movie came out but, after seeing the Raimi film it just made more sense to me than the mechanical web-shooters. Why would Spider-Man not have the ability to spin webs? He gains all the abilities of a spider except the ability to spin webs! ? Sorry Stan Lee, but that does not make sense.

The problem with thinking of this as taking place in an alternate universe is that its title is The Amazing Spider-Man. That is the title of the main Spider-Man comic in the prime Marvel universe. If it had a different title I would have less of a problem with it.

I have not seen it yet so I don't know if it's good or not but I have serious doubts.
