You are completely forgiven for thinking of fart jokes in response to this image.

Last week's issue of Entertainment Weekly was apparently all about The Avengers, next summer's betting-the-farm superhero film from Marvel Studios and Disney. A bunch of kinda-crappy scans of images from the magazine have been floating around for a while, but it looks like EW and Marvel.com have seen fit to release the rest of the pics in better versions, which I've thrown in down below here. Are there any startling revelations? Not really: if you've been following the behind-the-scenes stuff, you'll have been aware that there's some kind of battle in a city between the Avengers and their as-yet-unconfirmed foes (everyone still seems to think it's the Skrulls, though). Also, attractive people continue to be attractive.

I think Joss is saying "I want to make love to you so bad right now" to Scarlett. In the shot above that the guys are deciding if "Do you know what happens to a Skrull when it gets struck by lightning?" is really a line that Thor would say.

God, I am going to look just like Whedon in 15 years. Hey, maybe I can talk to hot chicks like Johansson by then.

Wow, Scarlett Johansson's legs in the third picture are quite unusual.

Looks pretty cool, but needs more Hulk...(I know I know, he's added in post but I have a bias for the character).

Mostly of Scarjoe who's not even an avenger, what are the odds. Someone at Disney's smart enough to take advantage of a nude pic scandal. My only concern is their need to give everyone facetime, their own "moment" or whatnot, will clunk up the film's pace a bit. Its not like Xmen where you go "Wolverine! And the rest."

I still hold out hope that at some point in the movie Captain America will go apeshit and fight the other members of the team. I would mark out so hard for that.

I find it weird that we haven't seen the Iron man suit yet.

this movie could be good, but i am not getting my hopes up. the individual movies have had a range.

There are so many characters in this movie. It is either going to be really good or REALLY bad.
