A statement from Marvel...

" We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in the Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks."

That's probably a good thing for him. That film has disaster written all over it.

I agree with this. And, really, he's not a good supporting character. His acting methods are different than a lot of other actors, and he doesn't gel well unless he's in a lead role.

Good for Ed, I never understood why he did it in the first place. Why not stick Eric Bana back in there? That guy works well with ensemble casts & it's a decision that is sure to get people talking on forums.

Hope he finds a better film. Norton is my favorite actor working now!

I'm also glad he's out, now he can do something productive with that time and hopefully be in another great film. As for the Avengers Movie do you guys think its gonna be the biggest flop in the past 10 years?

Not even remotely and I can't see how it can rationally be argued either considering horrible films do gloriously at the box office - I'm looking at you, Star Wars prequels. It'll be successful financially, I'd be extremely surprised if not, but as for the quality of the film itself...only time will tell.

I think they should probably remake another Hulk movie then.
