While the majority of the Marvel characters are owned by different Film Studios like 20th Century Fox having the rights to the X-Men characters as well as the Fantastic Four characters but according Kevin Feige during a recent interview there are some who fall into a gray area. Feige stated that Marvel Studios could use Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in an Avengers sequel if they wanted to and could even use the Skrulls if they wanted to. He didn't say anymore than those few (presumably because they're characters not worth mentioning). He also gives a promising update on Edgar's Wright's Ant-Man in the interview. Also if you don't want to be spoiled some don't watch the interview below because they do say who the secret aliens are in the film.

Secret aliens in the film? You literally just spoiled the movie. Thanks.

I hope they don't decide to use the Ultimate Avengers versions of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

You're not serious, right? Almost all of the speculation of the film is about who the Aliens that we see glimpses in trailer of are. There have been entire threads on Screened just to talk about people's theories. If you've read anything about the trailers or the movie, these mystery aliens were probably mentioned.

Definitely no spoiler there.

OH MY GOSH YES. Hardcore wishing that we somehow get Nathan Fillion and Morena Baccarin in those roles.

I don't see how they could justify doing that. Incest isn't exactly a big seller.

I doubt they will, they'd have to introduce the whole notion of mutants existing in the universe and why it was so conveniently ignored until that point and it wouldn't be easy to ignore the fact that they're Magneto's children without pissing fans off.

@Mercy_: As much as I love Nathan Fillion there is no way he is going to star in a huge summer blockbuster.    The best you can hope for Nathan is that Joss Whedon uses him for small roles like they did for Amy Acker  and Tom Lenk in The Cabin in the Woods

Game of Thrones would disagree with you...

Fair point, but GoT is also a bit more niche than an Avengers movie and caters to a completely different audience, genre and age group. It's two very different demographics.

I should have been more clear in my phrasing. Incest is not a big seller to the demographic that Avengers is being marketed to.

Why must you crush my dreams T___T

Cobie Smulders managed it (albeit, it's a smaller part). Nathan's had steady success with Castle and it also brings in more Whedonites.

I was going to make a new thread but I guess it applies here.

I was discussing with my friend before the movie about who we would like to see join the Avengers for a sequel and the first two people the came to mind were Wolverine, Spider-Man or someone from the Fantastic Four (minus Johnny Storm unless they get a new actor to play him because that would be weird...). Now obviously this will never happen unless 20th Century Fox and Paramount let the properties expire for each franchise. While these two would be big, main choices a lot of fans would probably want to see, who do you think would make for an interesting choice? Part of me would love to see Daredevil done properly. I think he's a really interesting character and it's a shame the Ben Affleck movie is pretty terrible. Luke Cage, Echo, Iron Fist, or Dr. Strange could also be interesting choices.

The only two superheroes I would really like to see join the Avengers is Wolverine and Spider-Man. It was fun to play as both of them in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
