For all the waiting we've done, the Marvel movie everyone has anticipated has finally arrived. The Avenger's swings its way into theaters across America, and I have to say it was well worth the wait.

Now, I didn't think it was possible that the on-screen pairing of all of these heroes could be balanced and feel like it works, yet it does. Sure the plot is a little thin at times, and hell, Loki still seems like a push over of a bad guy to me, but The Avenger's has to be the most fan-fair comic book movie ever made. It will appeal to just about any comic book nerd, hell, even the casual's.

The Avenger's plot starts out with Loki coming through something called the “Tesserac” (don't quote me on the spelling of that). We saw this little cube-like device in not only last year's “Thor”, but also “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Loki plans on bringing an army, and he even manages to turn Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) on his side for about half of the movie. I would say the movie is split into three acts: act 1 involves the team coming together, act 2 revolves around the team on S.H.E.I.L.D.'s flying contraption, and the final act is the gigantic battle everyone wants to see. The movie starts off strong, introducing these characters as best that they can, giving them some fantastic introductions, and weaving them all together. Hell, even Robin Sparkles from How I Met Your Mother shows up as Nick Fury's personal assistant. That's cool, right?

The Avenger's is full of great humor and comic relief too, something I wasn't really expecting. However, if I could offer up just one complaint about the film, its that it drags a little in the second act. The whole ordeal on the flying base thing is cool, don't get me wrong, but that is the only area of the movie that could have used a few more edits, just my opinion. Every actor does a fantastic job, enough that's I can't really point out one great performance that is better then another. The only one I will mention is that, I've always kind of hated The Hulk, and this is the first time I felt they did him some decent justice. Thanks Mark Ruffalo, for not being a pansy.

One of the best things I can throw out about The Avenger's is that I feel for the first time since the original “Transformers”, this is a movie were I was pretty wowed by the special effects and CGI. Everything in this budget came together beautifully, and this is definitely the new standard for CGI use.

At times The Avenger's feels like some sort of fan-fiction, or something that I would have come up with when I was five years old and I was playing with my action figures. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't great either. Joss Whedon has done an excellent job of directing all of these stars in this big, huge blockbuster of a movie, even tying things together in the end for a inevitable sequel.

Well yes, I'm always going to be more impartial to Batman, and I've always been more of a DC Comics kind of dude, The Avenger's hits all the right notes, and is probably the most memorable comic book fan-fest since Super-man 2. (Sorry, but Nolan's Bat-trilogy is on a different level). There really is no reason you shouldn't see this movie.
