The Blind Side is loosely based off a true story, starring Sandra Bullock, Tim Mcgraw, and Quinton Aaron. The movie netted Bullock her first Oscar.
Micheal Oher, had been in and out of foster homes for nearly his whole life; every time he was placed in a home he would run away looking for his mother. He eventually ended up staying with a friend of his sleeping on the couch. When his friend's father enrolls his son into a Christian School, he pleads a case for Mike to be enrolled as well. The coach is interested in "Big Mike" for his athletic ability and agrees to help. Mike struggled early on in school, not knowing how to complete his work when on paper, but knew the information when spoken orally. He eventually meets up with S.J Tuohy, the two quickly become friends, One Night after S.J's Thanksgiving Festival, Miss Tuohy spots Mike walking around in the freezing cold, she softens up and allows him to stay with them for the night. When she wakes up in the morning, she see's Mike exiting their house and offers him to stay Thanksgiving with them. As time progresses Michael and S.J become good buddies, and He and Collins become study partners, Leigh Anne goes up to the school to find out that Mike has poor academic performance, but his Protective skills are in the 98th percentile. The film ends with real footage of Michael Oher on Draft day.
