An "innocent" escaped convict (Sheen) kidnaps the mayor of Newport Beach's daughter (Swanson), yet the two strangely and gradually befriend eachother as the authorities and media following them start to grow in absurd numbers of insane people.

Trivia:

Canadian rock band Alexisonfire wrote a song titled "Charlie Sheen Vs. Henry Rollins" which is inspired by and makes reference to The Chase.
