Deathly Hallows Part II beat TDK's opening weekend by a full ten million dollars, although it didn't manage to beat TDK's first Saturday, oddly enough. I'm curious if anyone thinks TDKR has a chance to beat it next year. Obviously TDKR is a great property, but TDK also had the "benefit" of the Heath Ledger stuff pushing interest. Also, can't discount the fact that DHII was two hours long, allowing them to put in an extra screening a day; if TDKR is 2 hours 30 long that might hurt it.
Should be interesting! Of course, if they launch TDKR on a Wednesday, that'll mess everything up.
