My main problem:

How the hell did Wayne get from the prison he escaped from back to Gotham in a day or a matter of days?

The film made a big point about him having no money. Alfred left him to himself so he had no connection, Gotham was effectively in lock down (admittedly from people getting out). That threw me and unsettled me for a bit of the movie as I kept trying to justify it.

Another question is what did everyone think of the final scene with Bane.. I loves every second Tom Hardy tore up as Bane, he created a monster with very little rhyme or reason who followed Joker's chaos for the sake of chaos routine.. But in the last scene of his, Batman beats him, and Talia al Ghul reveals his true beginnings and nature, both things essentially emasculating (probably not the right word) him and tearing down everything he was and then the Catwoman bit.. I just felt like they were done with Bane at that point and didn't bother giving him a fitting end..

This is definitely the most important problem I have with TDKR. That part is kind of infuriating. Batman beating him was fine, that had to happen. But the moment that knife dug into Batman, I lost the thread. Part of the problem is that Talia's writing, once she became Talia, was kind of terrible. She didn't really get to do a whole lot there, either. I'd rather they removed that whole thread and just left Bane more of a mystery; I'm sad Nolan forgot how well that works.

@Captain_Insano: That sequence for me, sums up why this film is, imo, more of a sequel to Begins instead of TDK. I also feel it seriously benefits from being thought of like that.

TDK was so grounded in reality, so gritty and realistic that it just wouldn't fit to have something that glaringly obvious as a plot hole if the same tone was used. Rises felt way more comic book-y in my opinion. The bad guy in TDK, uses human nature and peoples drive to survive as a way to terrorize Gotham, in rises they use a nuclear bomb. The more I see it as a sequel to begins, considering all the links to it, league of shadows etc, also all the flashbacks were from begins, the more I truly begin to really like Rises. However, the instant I remember TDK came before it, the film drops in my estimations.

TDK was just tighter, better written and for me way more involving. Rises is still one of the best Batmans films, it just took a weird shift of tone from TDK that makes me appreciate it more when I say Begins/Rises as two films and then view TDK as some weird spin-off on it's own.

I thought here slow knife speech was alright, this kinda way to tie it all back together, and Cotillard did a really good job with it but I do agree that it was a little to late to spin that thread, and her character only goes downhill from there, and since she wasn't really in it alot you don't really get that whole "holy shit!" moment. It would have been better had he introduced a character in DK or something so by this point that shatters you're concept on this character that's been an ally. And yeah knowing just giving the audience/batman enough evidence to fill in the blanks while not really revealing anything about Bane would have been perfect, the way he handled Joker and his backstory/beginnings was so much better than what he did here

@Watcherg44: I liked his voice in the final film because he sounds more insane, and enjoying his work.. if that makes sense.. But I do think that more gruff and there original direction for his voice matches his character more

For me, the main problem with the Talia stuff was the lack of development between her and Wayne. They had sex once and then talked a couple of other times? And that is supposed to be enough for us to feel the betrayal batz does? The film should have started six months into their relationship. Bruce is getting over Rachel and enjoying life again. The slow knife speech/Bane breaking him would have meant so much more if he was just getting over what happened in TDK.

@ZoomyRamen: it was all part of her plan to get him out of his shell, so she could destroy him, then he would not be able to stop her plan, that took her years to pull off.

I feel like Nightwing is a bit more suited for the Nolan universe (is it still the Nolan universe if Nolan isn't directing it?) than Robin is.

@Watcherg44: All it took after 8 years of being a recluse was having sex once? Their relationship was so poorly handled in the film. They barely speak to each other. We needed to see more of their relationship.

@ZoomyRamen: That part was hard to watch, i left the second time i saw this part. I know when i get the Dvd, it will be a skipped.

@Watcherg44: Having seen it a second time at the cinema, I'm already sort of bored with it. The Dark Knight was enthralling each and every time I watch it. But Rises is lacking. I never get excited to watch the scenes again. Infact the only scenes I really wanted to see again, were the ones involving the bat bike doing cool things and Michael Caine at the gravestones.

@ZoomyRamen: I guess the bat pod was the only thing there, cents the Batmobile was bloom up, and i was hoping for a new one, then the bat plane. and with the dark knight, i don't need to see then ending all that much, pretty much after the joker is defeeted i stop it. BUt i watched it ALOT.

@Genkkaku: the voice, it was cleaner, i thought it was a bit loud, not much, but a bit. and thank you for putting that up there!

I really like this style of thinking and completely agree. some of the stuff in the movie was just plan odd to me I only wish that Catwoman had been in The Dark Knight then everything would have been perfect
