"I kinda dig mashups," is something a goddamn hipster would say before you hit them right in their hipster face producing a hipster nosebleed. (It was cooler before it was mainstream, get it? No, neither do I.) But still, there've been some fine mashups taking place over the last week on Youtube, which we'll throw up today on Screened because we're lazy buttheads.

To begin with, take a look at this clip that compares footage from The Lion King with the audio from the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. Oh, and while we're on the subject, I happened to catch that TDKR prologue in front of Mission: Impossible on Friday, and...yep. You can't understand a single goddamn word that Bane is saying.

It's been a LONG time since I've seen The Lion King and watching that reminded me how great that movie is.

What in the name of hell are these hipsters people keep complaining about/wanting to punch in the face?

I suspect they must be some kind of shark like creature.

Kind of a stretch to me.

Kevin Conroy when taking the part of Batman in the animated series automatically thought that it was just like Hamlet from reading the general outline of the show. And The Lion King is just Hamlet with lions. I'm not surprised by how fitting this is.

It helps that there's a script for the DKR Mission: Impossible screenings online. That said, I still had to watch the bootleg online and follow along line for line to keep track of what the hell was going on with Mushmouth in there...
