What are your feelings on the 3D situation

Im really really happy that Nolan chose not to include 3D for this film.. 3D is something that should be reserved for gag films like Jackass.. and kids films..

Do you really expect anyone to say "I wish this were in 3d"? Nolan's a film maker, the sort who appreciates craft and quality. So far, there hasn't been a 3d movie that lines up with those standards, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone that this is only going to be in 2d. 

What I hope for is more scenes shot for native IMAX resolution. That's a film gimmick I can really get behind. The aerial shots in both the dark knight and inception looked amaaaaazing, and getting to hear inception on that massive sound system was a treat too.

Then why do you care about the quests? The quests are an extension of the community, and a way to engage and interact with people who enjoy being part of that community. If the community is meaningless to you, then by pursuing the quests, all you're doing is tedious busywork to fill up a meaningless bar and get meaningless little badges to put on your meaningless profile. Do you really not have anything better to do?

I really doubt Nolan would make a 3D film. In interviews he's been asked about it and he's taken a fairly neutral stance. It seems as if he doesn't see what use 3D could be to any of his films.

Studios like 3D because it brings in higher returns due to increased ticket price.  Fortunately, Nolan is regarded as a top tier director (critically & financially) so he can call his own shots on that.  He has stated in the past that he's okay with post conversion similar to the current Thor movie, so there is a chance that The Dark Knight Rises might employ that process.

@remaininlight: I care about the community, this thread in particular I started to get a quest.. and what the hell is your problem? Do you really have nothing better to do then start an argument about absoutely nothing just because your bored? I posed a valid question to the community, my reasons for doing it aside, and you jump on it like a fatty on a doughnut...

It's not a valid question if you don't care about the answers. It says "I don't actually believe in what I'm saying, but it's good enough for you plebs". It's condescending, and I hate that. Is your thirst for quests so dire that you really need waste our time with things even you don't care about? Why not just wait until you have 10 things to say that you care about to get the quest?

Furthermore, I didn't start an argument, I contextualised your idiotic actions. They were small actions, so it only took a small effort on my part to criticise you for it. To argue with you in earnest would require a considerable effort. I would liken it to scaling the Everest of Suck, whose poorly mapped base and obtuse angles have challenged for centuries those who dare look upon it in amazement of it's staggering enormity. Frankly, I'm not equipped for the task, and I leave the challenge of conquering your idiocy to some hardier adventurer. I only hope I live to see that day, so that I may be the first to congratulate him.

@feargalr: He's not trolling. I remember yesterday the forums were filled with your topics. Everybody likes Quests, but there is no need to flood the forums with topics that even you aren't interested in getting responses for. You're new, so I don't want to get a rough start with you, but just remember that Quests aren't particularly important.

@Mushir: Im currently trying to best my flamate getting to a higher level but ya thats fair enough, I kinda thought  that starting like 5 together or whatever it was a bit much for the forum, the other forums Im used to are a lot bigger so starting several threads in one day across different subforums isn't even noticed. But I don't think any of my topics were pointless. Ive got the quest now so it won't be happening again anyway :P Thanks for the productive criticism, remaininlight kinda gave me a bad taste for the forum tbh though. Im all for debates but he's just down right insulting over absolutely nothing. I might just stick to the wiki for a while

C'mon guys, can't we all just get along?

Anyway, back to the question at hand - didn't Nolan say that he wouldn't want to make films in 3D by choice, but was willing to utilise it if audiences demanded it. I assume this means that, while TDKR won't be in 3D, it's not something that he'll indefinitely rule out for all of his future films.
