Will this movie be ruined?

I'm sure by now we have all seen at least one or two leaked photos from The Dark Knight Rises.

It doesn't take much digging before you can find youtube videos and "secret" details all leaking from production sets and shooting locations.

With all this information, costumes, plot details, and anything else in between being released (and now I'm seeing it as headlines on entertainment sections) could all the expectations be met with all the information leaking out?

I've never been one to resist some info about something I'm looking forward but I always placed merit with those you simply wanted to be left in the dark. Can we even have that with this movie anymore? Or will set photos and production stills ruin this movie before its released?

I have to say I was worried about the same thing. Normally when a movie I want to see gets some info leaked I take a mild peak at it just to feed my curiosity, but this is the first time I can think of inwhich I've actually gone "oh man, more Dark Knight news? Quick, hide it from me" because I've already seen so much info that I'm worried I'll know what the entire movie will be by the time it comes out.

I've purposely been avoiding all leaked information from The Dark Knight Rises and have only looked at the official character shots that they released. I'm not one for spoiling things, so I've been going out of my way to avoid news articles/threads/etc that might ruin things.

@Joe: That usually what I do but I feel like I keep seeing articles popping up more prominently lately. Used to be you had to do some hunting to find these photos and videos now I feel like I have to actively avoid it.

@FinalDasa: You're absolutely right, but I guess that was just inevitable after the huge success of The Dark Knight and the massive culture that surrounds Batman in the first place. I also guess it is because Nolan is such a secretive kind of guy, people are clamouring at the opportunity to 'expose' things from the set.

Spoilers are always a downer. It gets hard to avoid that stuff and I don't think we will ever have the era of the shocking reveal again.

However, at this point Nolan has to prove to me that he CAN'T make, at least, an entertaining film.

His credit is good for me until I see a film of his and go, "eh, it was alright"

My guess is that these are early scenes from the movie and that Bane is not the real main villain. Think about it, The Dark Knight was shot in the middle of Chicago and not much information was leaked, I don't think Warner would let this much info be leaked unless they want to distract us or something.

I think the main villain will be Liam Neeson coming back as Ra's Al Ghul.

I don't mind the leaked set shots or plot details so much. The best part of the Nolan Batman movies is the visual spectacle. Even if I knew the plot to The Dark Knight beforehand, I still would have enjoyed watching it.

Nope all thats been leaked are segmented spy shots of random ass shots. Do they confirm somethings like the batcopter/hoover craft a apparent fight between Bane and Batman (shocking) and Catwomans outfit yes. But we have no context for whats going on all we have are these disjointed 30 second clips.

could you infere and think through what is going on and extrapolate the plot of the movie sure but even than its still not confirmed

I feel like I have seen enough behind the scenes pictures, at this point I'd rather just wait for the film rather than risk spoiling it.

It will be ruined by the petty people who let the press ruin their expectations for it.  For people like me, no, no way this can be ruined.

After the teaser trailer I decided that I won't check anything TDKR related out until after I've seen the movie. One of my friends was totally psyched for X-Men:First Class but ruined it so much by watching all the trailers that he said it felt like he was watching the filler between the bits he had seen already. And I certainly don't want that to happen with TDKR!

We can't comment now. I'm certainly not letting these leaks prevent me from seeing it, but if everything really was brought to bear (which I doubt) it's be disappointing but won't really impact the film for me. It's a film I'm going to see because I want to see it. Even if every plot detail is laid out, I love seeing the way Nolan does things visually and with his characters.

    1. I definitely feel like there has been an unusually high amount of mainstream media coverage as far as production coverage is concerned.   Of the top of my head I can’t recall another film that had quite as much coverage of very little.   I definitely agree with @MrMazz    that what we’ve seen is pretty inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.   We knew Bane was in the film and as a result he would have to be fighting Batman at some point. Catwoman’s reveal doesn’t give much away except that her character may be a little more practical as less cartoonish for lack of a better term, which falls in line with the rest of Nolan’s Dark Knight universe. Even the introduction of the Batwing isn’t all that shocking.   It seemed likely that some new form of transportation would be unveiled at some point.
    2. For me, it’s definitely the story that is most important to me and we haven’t gotten any leaks on that and I’d be surprised if we did.   For those of you avoiding any coverage/spoilers out there godspeed because it much be at least a part time job trying to avoid it.

I'm honestly trying to stay away from as many spoilers from spy footage as possible. But I got pissed off when websites put "Bat-Jet" directly into the headlines making it impossible for me to avoid it over the weekend.
