The Hunger Games return with such a sequel twist that you can't believe writer Suzanne Collins didn't think of film when writing. Catching Fire builds up with all types of subversive messaging which is interesting but also brings into relief the limitations of the genre and film.
Day of the Triffids is the 1963 adaptation of the Sci-Fi novel of the same title written by John Wyndham in 1951. When a mysterious meteor shower blinds most of earth's inhabitants, man eating plants called Triffids rise out of the earth hunt down the humans. The movie follows the still sighted protagonist Bill Masen as he fights not only the triffids, but a society that is crumbling before his very eyes.
