According to this article Chuck Norris had a problem with the foul language and the such so the producers are toning it down a bit to make Expendables 2 into a PG-13 movie.

I call bullshit..

He was just concerned with the language, not the violence. Why would they tone down the violence? This doesn't make sense, I call bullshit

If this is true, it'll be an even bigger disappointment than the first film.

The first film was kind of a disappointment with the bad one-liners (Buda and Pest, really?!) and dialogue, and I couldn't remember much of the action apart from Terry Crews tearing it up with that explosive AA-12 shotgun. Even the Rock vs Vin Diesel fight in Fast Five was way better than Austin vs Stallone in Expendables.
