This is by far the best movie I've seen in months maybe even the past year. I absolutely loved the characters, and the emotion behind the movie and the ending is fucking phenomenal.

Maybe it is because I have seen this movie but holy crap this review should have called "spoiler alert". I've never seen so many spoilers except at a pontiac grand am convention.

I felt like the movie suffered from a bit of overhype just as the movie was coming out. I definitely liked the movie, would give it 3 and a half to Alex's 4 stars but it seemed like the movie maker ran out of ideas near the end and the movie fell apart a bit. The ending I was ok with, it's just the few scenes before that. The movie though did a great job of portraying the hopelessness of the situation, maybe on some level I wanted more hope, like Neeson's character seemed all "yep, you guys are gonna die" which I think took away from his character a bit, but he was suicidal so his reaction was at least properly explained.

I loved it. The ending especially. Shame the trailers make it out to be nothing like it actually is.

Saw this last night and I can't make my mind up on it, mostly because of the ending. It kind of at once felt perfect and super cheep... I don't know. Great movie though.

Thought it was decent overall. Liked parts, especially the ending, but really just thought it was alright. Nothing I will see again.

it was a little awkward to read at first but I got to agree with you on this one. Though I couldn't stand the scene where they had the girl rub her hair on the dude it was a great film

Hey did anyone notice the baseball cap with the letters WY on it? The fact that the oil company was referred to as "the company" and that they "don't care about us"? The fact that Ridley Scott was a producer on the film? I'll wait for minds to be blown.

Just saw this yesterday and I can say with complete honesty that it is a great film. It takes quite a bit for a movie to keep me on the edge of the seat but this one did. Great cinematography, music and action.

An excellent movie, if youre still undecided, let me just say that this is one of the few movies to actually hit me emotionally, and got my friend to actually jump out of his seat in fear (something i've never seen...we go to hella movies). The ending is definitely divisive, I unfortunately didn't stick around after the credits so i gotta wait a few months to see the true conclusion I guess, which sucks but it doesn't impact the quality of the film at all. GO SEE IT LIAM NEESON IS THE FUCKING MAN.

Liam Neeson is as fantastic as he usually is, especially towards the end when his character arc comes full circle. The rest of the cast are pretty great as well, and even though you know pretty much everyone is going to die, it still does a good job of getting you to feel some emotional resonance with each of them. Early on it seems like you'll have the usual rag tag group: each character a typical stereotype (like the guy who disagrees with Neeson's leadership), but it turns all of that around and they're actually fairly distinct, likeable and sympathetic. It's the sort of character develop you might not always expect from a movie like this.

And the same can be said for the rest of it as well. I love the way it's shot; it feels completely desolate and eerie, and the sound design for the wolves is truly terrifying. The plane crash is a particular highlight as well, though it's much more about survival and character than big, action set pieces. This is not Taken with wolves, it's much more than that, and better for it. If you go in with that mindset then there's a lot to love. It can be a bit slow at times but these quiet moments help to build these characters, and once it gets going it's completely thrilling, mainly because you care about what's happening.

Nah, I don't feel like this at all. The wolves just started to get really annoying after like the third time. It just became this thing of where you know the characters are going to get surrounded by wolves or something with another fucking wolf, and it removes all the drama from it. In fact, it gets silly.

Oh ok, there's another wolf howling, oh nooooooo. Oh look, a wolf killed ANOTHER guy. Oh nooooooo. I feel like there's moments where they're reckless, like when they're going towards the treeline and they leave a guy VERY far behind so he gets killed. Plus, some shitty green screen effects in places. Who cared about any of the characters other than Liam anyway?

Agree with you.

Red Band Trailer: The Grey

Get a look at some of the blood and cussing in the film that Liam Neeson says contains his favorite role of his entire career, after Michael Collins.

Trailer: The Grey

So, you crashed your plane and now you have to fight off a band of vicious wolves. What do you use? Obviously, you glue travel-size liquor bottles to your fists and make glass boxing gloves. Also, you're Liam Neeson.
