What a pile of garbage. Seriously. This is a crappy attempt at starting a new serial killer franchise (Freddy Krueger and Jason are about 1000 times better then this douchebag) is so muddled down with plot holes and a script that defies any kind of logic that you will scratch your head in disbelief more then a dozen times during its ninety minute run.
In fact, the only redeeming quality of this film was that it starred Lance Henriksen, and I think he even knows this is trash.
For starters, there's no way a serial killer gets away with hacking up over 100 different people before he's caught, that just doesn't make sense at all. Unless you are Dexter Morgan, in which case you are smarter then everyone else. This guy, Max Jenke, is an idiot. Then we have a super cool and awesome idea, by allowing this guy's "spirit" to travel from his body after his initial death by electric chair and float around. Now instead of inhabiting a doll (Chuckie), or just scaring the hell out of everyone, he's able to show up in his old body, and even show himself on the tv or be heard on the radio. But wait, how the hell can he show up in his old body if his body was badly destroyed during that execution? Yep, that's one of the many questions I asked myself while watching this pile.
Even the end, which is probably the most generic end to any 80's horror film, is just flat out terrible. Look people, if you want to see a good, inventive, and amazing 80's horror film, watch the first two Friday the 13th's, or even A Nightmare on Elm Street. Leave this pile where it belongs: at the bottom of the $1.99 dvd bargain bin in gas stations across this nation.
