This pretty cool little motion teaser picture/poster was released for the Hunger Games.

For just a .gif it's pretty badass. I've never read the books but is anybody looking forward to these movies?

Cannot freakin' wait for these movies, and I agree the .gif looks awesome, paired with what I hope to be a bit of a soundtrack/film score tease

I think my sister had read these books. Can't say I know anything about them though other than they're pretty popular and are crime novels I believe. I'll have to wait for a trailer to come out before I can make a decision about this movie.

@finaldasa: Haha, i've read the books and I enjoyed them. I can't say they are perfect, or great pieces of literature just an enjoyable read.

I'm also excited by a lot of the casting decisions. Love Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) for Katniss, and Woody Harrelson for Haymitch and Donald Sutherland for Snow make perfect sense to me.

Technically its a Flash animation not a GIF. Pretty cool none the less.

@crimsonavenger: Take the setting of Battle Royale (children chosen by the government to participate in combat) and give it a Series 7-style reality show (except we're viewing it directly from the POV of the contestants rather than as an audience member) and you get the general concept.  It's the kind of YA fiction that anyone can read and get something out of it.  (I'm 30 and blew through the books in a week and a half, which I haven't done since the Millennium Trilogy.)

Trailer 3: The Hunger Games

After reading these books, I'm curious as to how they're going to faithfully adapt the gorier portions into a PG-13 movie, but I guess we'll find out in March. They're certainly not showing much in these trailers.
