No. I understood your point perfectly. I read the whole article, and I'm not sure what makes you think i didn't understand what you quoted from it. I understand it, I even partially agree, its just that none of that is relevant to what I was actually saying in my original post. If I had been talking about how accurate the film is, then it would've been a good reply, but I wasn't. I was talking about the film's realism, something that the article doesn't touch on at all.

Love that my favorite part of this generally underwhelming film is the one scene you have issue with. I guess we are just on completely different wavelengths when it comes to film.

It's why I didn't feel too strongly about this movie. It was great in many ways but it didn't culminate in anything, and although I don't feel as if I usually miss the symbolism in movies I just don't think the addiction theme was very well communicated. I don't even think this film deserved to win the Oscars it did, to be honest.

looking back, the fact that critics praised this movie for its "realism" was fucking retarded.
