Biopic of Margaret Thatcher, who became the first female and longest-serving (in the 20th century) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990. Her life's success and failures are revisited, starting with Mrs. Thatcher in her golden years.
Thatcher and her husband discuss Yul Brenner and the number of times he played the King while the film plays in the background.

A biopic based on the life of Maragret Thatcher, played by Meryl Streep, specifically her first interest in politics, her husband, and her time as Britain's Prime Minister. The film is told mainly through flashbacks as an elderly Thatcher is dealing with life no longer in power and the events of her life weighing heavily on her mind. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd the film was received mostly positively and nominated for multiple awards though the portrayal of Thatcher as a sick old lady who laments as much as celebrates her political life.

Trailer 2: The Iron Lady
Meryl Streep, I love you, but you really should've let Helen Mirren tackle this one. Not that you won't be good, but this seems like a bit much. |

Trailer: The Iron Lady
I notice a distinct lack of arc reactors and pulse lasers in this trailer. I'm sure that's merely an oversight that will be corrected in the final film. |
