Having stopped Kang's attack on present-day New York City, the Avengers take the fight to the Damocles for one final showdown.

Synopsis

Nick Fury informs Iron Man that the invasion that Kang launched on the previous episode is not going well for Earth. Three-fourths of the world is already claimed by Kang's scarab forces, with new cities falling every hour. Furthermore, the recently discovered Damocles is on the move and generating a significant amount of energy, suggesting that a major blow is on the way that will finalize the invasion for Kang. With time precious, Nick Fury tells Iron Man that if the Avengers are going to do anything to stop Kang's conquest of the Earth, they better do it now.

At Avenger's Mansion, the Avengers wear specially designed space armor and board a quinjet along with a fleet of Ultron robots. Just as they launch towards space, the Damocles shoots the energy blast that it has been building up. While the shot targets Avenger's Mansion, the collateral damage from the blast could level New York City. Seeing the danger, Thor uses his own body to deflect the shot back at the Damocles. The destruction is averted and the Damocles primary weapon knocked offline, but Thor is falls into a coma and two Ultron units are needed to care for him.

In space, the Avengers and the Ultron fleet have to fight past a fleet of Scarab robots. All of the remaining Avengers and the remaining two Ultron units are able to enter the ship after the Hulk causes a hull breach except for Wasp and Iron Man, who are cut off when a forcefield pops up over the breach. Once inside, the Avengers do battle with Kang's elite guard. They are initially overwhelmed, even losing another Ultron unit, but a sneak attack with a flare by Hawkeye gives the team enough of an upper hand to prevail.

Elsewhere, Iron Man and Wasp still search for an entrance into the Damocles. While Iron Man unsuccessfully tries to force an escape hatch open, Wasp begins to mock a fleet of Scarabs near her. Initially Iron Man assumes she has lost her mind in the middle of a battle, but it soon becomes clear that she is luring them into the ship, causing them to crash into the side of the Damocles and cause a second breach for her and Iron Man to sneak into.

In the main control room of the Damocles, Kang starts to learn a string of bad news. First, the multiple breaches seem to suggest to more invasion have occured upon the ship. Then, he receives word that his elite guard has been defeated. Even the situation on Earth starts to worsen for Kang, when he learns that Wakanda has been successfully defended. Frustrated, Kang leaves the control room to take care of the Avengers in person.

The main Avenger group decides that rather than attack Kang directly, they will try to locate the Damocles' "time drive", the device that anchors the station to the present day, so that they can destroy it and send botht the ship and Kang back to his original timeline. Ultron 5, the last remaining Ultron unit, is instructed to search for tachyon particles, as any collection of them will suggest the location of the time drive. Discovering a tachyon source, Ultron starts to lead the Avengers towards the time drive.

Travelling through air vents within the ship in an attempt to locate Kang, the Wasp is sucked along by a strong current and winds up in the room that holds Princess Ravonna, Kang's lover that has been caught in a state of slowly fading temporal imbalance. Wasp attempts to talk with the frozen Ravonna, when she is captured by members of Kang's crew.

Ultron 5 is able to finally locate the Damocles' time drive, but it is far bigger and more heavily shielded than any of the other drives that the Avengers were able to destroy. A set of guard Scarabs active, attacking the Avengers and knocking Ant-Man unconscious. Just as the Scarabs are about to overwhelm the Avengers, Kang halts their attack to challenge the Avengers directly to battle.

The Avengers attempt t attack Kang, but they soon discover he still has technological defenses for all of their abilities. Soon all but Captain America and Ultron 5 are defeated, and even they are held within stasis bubble Kang creates. Captain America attempts to reason with Kang, pleading that both Kang and the Avengers want the same thing: for humanity to be safe. Kang remains convinced that Captain America is the source behind the destruction of his native timeline, and declares defeat over Captain America. Just as he does, however, back-up arrives in the form of Iron Man.

Using modified weapons based on what he has learned about Kang's own technology, Iron Man is able to bypass both the Conqueror's defenses as well as the scarabs. When Captain America tells Iron Man to destroy the time drive, Iron Man suggests a different plan: instead ofdestroying it, they Avengers are going to use it. Ultron 5 begins to hack the Damocles' computer systems, attempting to attain control of the time-traveling spaceship while Iron Man and Captain America continue to fight Kang.

Ultron is able to gain access to the Damocles' system, and sends all of the saucers back to their native timeline. Before he can do the same to the Damocles', however, Wasp interrupts and tells the Avengers they can't go through with their plan. After Wasp explains that returning the Damocles to the 41st century will effectively kill Princess Ravonna, Iron Man tries to suggest that Kang's current future can be averted without Kang having to take over 21st century Earth. Kang refuses to relent, and attempts one more desperate attack which is thwarted by Captain America, who knocks Kang unconscious.

With Kang's invasion defeated, Earth is saved from the tyrant's rule in the present day. Thor awakens from his coma to the company of the Wasp and Jane Foster. Reed Richards and Hank Pym do research on how to restore Ravonna from her time-displaced stasis. And within Prison 42, Kang is held in custody. He warns that Captain America's betrayal, which he still find inevitable, is just the beginning, and that the worst is yet to come.
