Rico Rodriguez asks Kermit if he's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The creator of the Muppets, Jim Henson, also supplied the turtle animatronics for this film.

The dance Mary does during the "Me Party" musical number where she splits a roll in half, pins it to the table with two forks and dances on the table is the same dance Charlie Chaplin does in this movie.

Mentioned by Kermit when he is explaining to Walter that Muppets can drive. The " standard Fame and Fortune contract" that Lew Lord (Orson Welles) has Kermit sign in this movie is also referenced.
