The Hunger Games return with such a sequel twist that you can't believe writer Suzanne Collins didn't think of film when writing. Catching Fire builds up with all types of subversive messaging which is interesting but also brings into relief the limitations of the genre and film.
Gabe Law is dedicated to his job and his wife. But when transporting a prisoner, the group is attacked and he's shocked to see his own face on the perpetrator. Blamed for the murder of his wife (commited by the man who looks like him) he teams up two enforcers also chasing his twin to discover that it is actually an alternate reality version of himself, out to kill him so that he (Yu-Law) can become 'The One', the only 'Law' in the realities which he thinks will make him a god.
With no job, friends or wife, Gabe Law fights for the last thing he has, his life in a confrontational final battle.
