I made mention in my The Other Guys review that, on top of using modern financial system malfeasance as a big part of its plot, but on top of that, the movie used its credits sequence to make a sort of preachy, kind of fascinating, altogether bizarre dissection of everything that's gone wrong with American capitalism in the last several years. Well, just in case you didn't have the gumption to get up and see the movie this past week, now you can just watch those credits in their entirety.

I know some people who have been put off by the movie's weird, selective bursts of political politicitude, but it didn't really bother me much. The credits though, they're pretty bananas. Enjoy!

As Rage started playing I was like this is pretty awesome.

All of this is the kind of stuff any mildly well-read person already knows...so I guess it's good that it's getting tacked on to the end of The Other Guys. Still, I wish they had kept the normal outtakes that they usually show. I guess we'll have to wait for the DVD.

Don't get me wrong, I like ragging on American capitalism and CEOs and Big Companies just like everyone else, but as a statistics minor stuff like this makes my teeth clench.

I found The Other Guys primarily unfunny, despite my love for Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Perhaps this preachy tone bothered me enough to ruin the movie, like the heavyhanded naturalist overtones made Dragon Quest IX nearly unplayable to me.

I liked the credits. From a design point, they were very well done. I love when films find a creative way to present their titles and credits. I also think the average American doesn't know a thing about those statistics, even though they should. If they have to learn it through a Will Ferrell movie, then so be it.

I'll give the credits this: I didn't know exactly how a ponzi scheme worked till after I saw The Other Guys. Sooo... thank I guess.

Weird. I had no idea The Other Guys had any ambition of trying to be more than a comedy. Doesn't really matter to me. Haven't seen much of Ferrel's work but liked the trailer for this one. Might catch it on TV someday.

Dood, those are some fancy credits.  Also, that Cee-Lo/Eva Mendes song is pretty damn good!  I can't stop listening to it now!

Probably not the right forum, but dammit people, the$700 billion bail-out wasn't just thrown away, nor did it actually cost the US Treasury $700 billion. That money was loaned out at a fantastically low interest rate to large financial firms to serve as a stop gap measure to prevent further unnecessary failure. The question wasn't "should we do this", it was "how are we going to do this". It is in that second question that disagreements with the government should be raised. It is also worth noting that by continually harping on it, the problem is necessarily conflated with the current administration which had nothing to do with the passage of the TARP legislation.

The Other Guys International Trailer

I agree, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes is a VERY nice lady.

Trailer: The Other Guys

Two cops (Wahlberg and Ferrell) run into trouble in this action-comedy when they try to be something they're not, good cops.
