Original released in Sweden february 16 1957 with the swedish title "Det sjunde inseglet". This film has since became one of Ingmar Bergman's most famous and beloved movie

Trivia:

In the end, where some of the characters are doing the "death dance", most of the actors had gone home for the day. The unique light of the day and peculiar cloud formations in the sky caught Bergman's eye, so he gathered together crew members to act out the scene.
