So crazy that between season 2 and about 12 the comedy was some of the best ever seen on television.
That's over a decade!
I think The Simpsons is the best thing that's ever been on TV.
Also helps that the main series started the year I was born and is a huge part of my childhood.

Ive watched every episode of the simpsons 2-9 atleast 4/5 times now (maybe even more now that I think about it...about 6 times i'd say) and it's still the funniest thing I can watch.

That was pretty awesome. Simpsons is terrible now.

The Simpsons isn't as awful as you're giving it credit Alex. 2002-2007 was pretty much a shitfest, but recent episodes have been funny enough with the added bonus of just knowing the characters. I guess I watch it occasionally for the same reason I still watch the Office, even if the situations aren't the greatest, they're still the same characters you know and love, and that's at the very least an nth bit comforting.

I have seasons 1-10, and as far as I'm concerned, that's as far as I ever need to go with that show.

Just recently watch season 4 again and suddenly remember why I love this show.

After just watching the last seasons, it's reinvigorating coming back to the old stuff. "Lisa's First Word" "Mr.Plow" and "Marge vs the Monorail" to name a few.

These were the first I saw when I was a kid, but still remember a whole lot of them gags even today.

@Armada: seasons 11 & 12 are still pretty good, less laugh out loud moments but have some memorable episodes.

I'm offended you would omit season 1 as one of the good years of the simpsons. Horrible animation and slower pacing/fewer laughs per minute aside, it still had it's moments, and gives you the "origin story" of the vast majority of best supporting characters of Springfield. Offended! (not really)

The goggles do nothing!

@CharAznable:
Nice. Poor Jay Sherman, The Critic was a good show. Jon Lovitz wasn't so bad when you didn't have to look at him

@jmic75: Yeah, but I figured 10 was a nice round number to stop at.

Alex sure seems to like that word lately. And I'd much rather watch a McGarnicle movie.

Nothing beats classic Simpsons.

Man, I haven't seen two of these clips, namely the "cannon by the book" and "any new business" clips in years - what episodes are they in, and is it that the eps don't get syndicated with the rest, or are these clips cut for more commercial space?

As much as I like McBain, nothing beats McGonigle for reoccurring TV characters.

"Well, McGonigle, Billy is dead! They slit his throat from ear to ear!"

The decline of The Simpsons seems to correspond with the arrival of Futurama.  Coincidence, Or something more sinister?

So, maybe FOX has a replacement for the Simpsons after all.

I have the first twelve or so seasons of The Simpsons on DVD and I fucking love them. Whenever I get down, I play season in the background and it always cheers me up. Bar none some of the best comedy ever written can be found in The Simpsons.

I also never had any idea that all of the McBain portions could be linked together haha. Some really good throwbacks in there.

Man I miss classic Simpsons.
