Who else thinks this looks awesome?

I didn't even know this was coming, and a trailer for it popped up in front of one of the movies I saw about a month or so ago. I was shocked as the trailer got quite a few laughs out of me, but I've always been a huge fan of physical, slapstick comedy.

Who else thinks this could be genuinely awesome?

The slapstick comedy I'm excited for, the booger and Snooki humor I am not.

Me! I love The Stooges but this film does have the Jersey Shore people in it for some bizarre and Larry David as a nun and those things have me worried.

This movie, just by looking at the trailers and commercials, looks really bad. I might see it though if it turns out to be good(but only on seven dollar Tuesday).

I only laughed once.

I like the Farrley brothers, Sean Hayes, Larry David, and will sasso. I'll watch it for them, with high hopes.

Movies that have been in development hell for around a decade usually turn out to be awesome.  Also movies that go from casting A-List stars like Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio Del Torro to replacing them with C-List TV Stars most people haven't heard of always turn out great.  Don't forget about the stunt casting with the Jersey Shore folks, that shit always works out and makes for a better movie.  The cherry on top is that it is a non-animated or muppet filled PG comedy, those are always stellar!   Maybe if we are lucky it will be so incredible they won't even bother screening it for critics.

This movie is going to make all other comedies look like shit.  I might as well start throwing out my old outdated comedy DVDs because once I see the Masterpiece of Merriment and Good Humor that will be The Three Stooges they will all become obsolete relics of a dark age of comedy that existed before the Farrelly Brothers retelling of The Three Stooges changed all our lives for the better.

Literally the only thing in the trailer that interested me was Snooki. The rest of the trailer looked really, really bad.

Hell no, I thought it looked awful.

Screw you guys. Slapstick comedy is the best kind of comedy.

It looks pretty terrible, but with that said, you have to admit that they're at least staying true to the original source material (Snooki cameo notwithstanding). They're using practical effects (notice the scene where they jump off the building where they just have purposely horrible looking dummies replace the actors), the slapstick is more or less the same stuff you'd get out of a Stooges short (complete with goofy-ass sound effects), and...I dunno man, Larry David as a nun sound like brilliant casting.

@VinceNotVance is right, and the fact that David is involved has to show some sort of worth to the film, right? Why do I care so much? Because I've lost control of my life.

I'll probably catch it on Netflix if it ever makes it to those shores just to see what it's like. Otherwise, I agree with and think it's pretty faithful to the older stuff. I just don't know if that style plays with many people anymore.

Did you guys never watch The Three Stooges when you were younger? This shit is in-line with that, and that shit was awesome!

I've actually seen all 190 of their shorts they made while at Columbia and most of their feature films from the 60's, and just about everything else Three Stooges. That's why I'm excited but I'm betting most people haven't seen much of their stuff. But then again slapstick aint everybody's cup of tea.

There are two types of people in this world. Three Stooges fans and Marx Brothers fans.

I'm still curious what the Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro Three Stooges was going to be like.

@Hawkeye:

I am one of those people who actually likes both but if I had to choose between them, I'd choose The Stooges. However when it comes to Abbott and Costello, I have to say I'm not a fan.

I can't stand slapstick comedy, but I respect your predilection for the more...physical brand of comedic-acting.
