It was really interesting and it opened so many doors that need to be closed, I am glad there will be a 2nd season.

Is that what happens to him?  He seriously seems to cry in every single episode.  Last night he cried when that one family decided to not come with them...haha.  Show still isn't doing it for me after the first 2 great episodes.  The end of this episode was so cheesy.  Season finale preview looked good, however....considering this is the only show I watch on Sunday, I'll keep giving it a chance to hook me back. OMG! In the comic books, what happens with Carol and what he does and who he becomes is sooo friggin awesome. The kid is a badass and it's really disappointing me right now, that I don't see him in the show acting like a badass right now.....Lets hope he does start growing up because I'm tired of seeing him cry.

Yeah everytime the camera freaked out a bit it looked so forced, and ended distracting me way more that convince me that shit's pretty run down. We've seen 4 episodes of shit being pretty run down. No need to all of the suddenly force it down our throats with some dudes shoddy camera.
 
My guess is the CDC guy is gonna infect some survivors to try and get fresher samples to test on. He sounded pretty devastated when decontanimation was announced and would probably feel justified in sacrificing some living to 'save the world'.
 
I know some people are thinking there'll be a lot more exposition on the nature of the virus, but I hope the 'lone scientist on the brink' thing is the focus of the finale. Should be really interesting!

The no direct explanation for the car seemed more like a deleted scene than an error. It's literally a piece of hose they need to fix it, or tape at worst.. something that definitely would have been in the service station they went to. Even a small length of garden hose would have done it, so I reckon they just cut the part of them doing the 2 minute repair job on it. Still.. they could have had a 3 second shot of someone fiddling with it.
 
While the light was a bit bright, the bigger thing that surprised me was the massive use of power that building seems to have access too. Something good for the survivors if the scientist guy doesn't turn out to be nuts and kill them all.

I found it interesting that when the guy was talking about wildfire he talked about it being day 193 (I think) of the experiment, day 63 of world wide infection. That means the CDC knew about it all before it all began, right? That, or my theory is the new guy isn't CDC at all...

Doesn't look like this is gonna end where I thought (entering the gated community that appears safe). We better at least get some Shane and Rick resolution in the last episode (it's always seemed like a natural plot point to finish the first season on).

@admordem: They also could have looted it from the many, many cars they've passed. 
 
@Martin_Blank: Hmm..I took that to mean that he needed a walker that was still "alive"....so not the corpses piled around the CDC.

He could take samples after infection but before transformation and observe the changes they undergo. Use that to better understand how the virus operates and hopefully how to inhibit/reverse it.

It was a decent episode. Kinda took a while to get rolling. Kinda tough watching this episode knowing that the writers were fired apparently? One more to go, curious to see how it wraps up.
