SPOILERS: This zombie will not be re-appearing.
SPOILERS: This zombie will not be re-appearing.

The news about a major The Walking Dead actor potentially leaving the show to join Frank Darabont on his new TNT show, L.A. Noir, might be a bit surprising to some, considering that the actor's character is still alive and well on The Walking Dead. As such, a few sites, including the AV Club, have made the assumption that that must mean that said actor's character will be killed off in the latter half of the coming season.

True? Maybe. Said actor may be weighing his options on whether or not he'd like to return to the show, and may or may not be under contract after this season. Or, indeed, he might be about to get killed off. No one really knows for sure except for the NDA'd employees at AMC, and maybe (maybe!) Darabont, assuming his long-term plans for the show are still intact after his firing.

I'm not going to keep saying "the actor," so assume that SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Apparently, Darabont still has a nice amount of respect for actor Jon Bernthal, who plays mostly-unhinged Shane on the show, and has asked TNT to speak with him about coming on to be the lead in L.A. Noir. Does that mean that Shane's gonna get dead in the second half of the season? Again, it's tough to tell whether Darabont simply wishes for Bernthal to get out of his contract, or if he already knows that Shane is going to die before Season 2 is over. For what it's worth, Shane's character exits the comic books in a manner that I'm fairly sure the television show is working up to, but we'll have to wait another few weeks to find out, as Season 2.5 or whatever they're calling it will return on February 12th.

Really, he's naming his show "L.A. Noir"? C'mon, Darabont.

Quoted for the muthafuckin' truth. So cheesy of him to do.

It's based on a book called L.A. Noir that was around well before the game was a thing.

Can't say I'm surprised about that spoiler. Just hope it doesn't take the whole rest of the season to get there.

That's just about the least surprising spoiler ever.

Feels like that character has been living on borrowed time for a while now, so not really a surprise, especially given the source material.

About damn time I say. Never liked his character in the show. Hope they play it out like in the books.

It's the natural course for the character to take. Plus it's rumored that at least a couple of actors want to leave because they're upset about the Darabont debacle, so it's possible this is one of those actors.

wow Rorie. You link to an outside source for the character page when comicvine offers the same info you were referring to? That's cold man.

This article's title is misleading.

Also people are babies about spoilers.

The Walking Dead tv show is so disappointing.

It's already coming up? Finally!

I had a feeling that he wasn't going to last the full season. I believe that if the show was following the comics then he would have been dead already.

I gotta ask, why the hell you linked to the Walking Dead wikia page instead of COMIC VINE inside the spoiler section? No cross-promotion/love for CV?

I was extremely nervous to click for the spoiler but was relieved that it wasn't someone that I really liked. I think on the CV or Screened podcast that they didn't expect the character to make it to the end of the season and it looks like it will probably come true.

The character in question was just asking to get killed off, the way he/she dressed and acted. Hope he/she meets a gruesome fate.
