Starts from 6:15. The last movie wasn't very good but let's hope the new will be a great one. Thoughts?

If I remember correctly the last episode of X-Files had The Smoking Man reveal to Mulder that the invasion/catastrophic world event was going to happen on the same day as the Mayan apocalypse.
I could see a third movie going three ways if they wanted to stay true to the show -
1. The movie takes place before 12/22/12 and deals with the event.
2. The event has happened and Mulder, Scully, and Doggett (fun fact - Bruce Campbell almost got the roll despite having played a monster of the week already) are dealing with the aftermath.
3. Nothing happened and Mulder's belief that the Truth is Out There is shaken until he discovers an alien invasion plot similar to They Live or Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
I thought the second movie would of made for a decent two-part episode but as a movie it didn't feel epic enough. It was a good story about a pedophile priest trying to redeem himself with his psychic powers by helping Mulder and Scully catch a serial killer. It brought up the recurring theme of Scully's faith and was a way to stop Mulder from being on the run for a crime he didn't commit. The big reveal of the living severed head and the makeshift laboratory was the best part but kinda mundane for X-Files.
The craziest part of the movie was that Xzibit played an FBI Agent and also had a decent amount of screen time.
I may be the only person on Earth to say this but I was not impressed with either the show or movies. The show wasn't that bad but I gave up on it after the first season. As for the movie I only saw the first and again was not impressed. The biggest problem I had was they could never officially prove The Truth is out there.
However if what

Was to take place I'd be honored to see it. Or any movie that ends with Mulder having proof.
Alright, so The X-Files is in my top 10 best TV shows of all time. That being said, I really liked the first movie. I hated the second one. Granted, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, but I was not impressed at all. The story would have to be really good to get me to come back to that universe.
