I'm kind of curious what "Thor" would refer to if it was a verb. Like, if you thorred someone, what did you do to them? It'd have to be violent, of course. It reminds me a bit of burning, for some reason. I'm really tired.

And they go right into "Hammer Time", bringing out Kenneth Branagh. Says he's always been a fan of Thor over all other American comic heroes. And here are the stars: not familiar with many of their names, but they do have Natalie Portman here, and of course Chris Hentsworth. Wow, he's pretty built as well. No Anthony Hopkins, unfortunately.

Talking about the function of swinging the hammer around; they went through a lot of versions of Mjolnir, because they wanted to get it right, since it's such a huge part of the character. A little talk about Anthony Hopkins, says he's very enthusiastic and has been having a hell of a time shooting with him. Natalie's talking now about her role as Jane, who hasn't been defined all that much; she says they tried to "find new colors" for the character, and it was a lot of fun to play scientist on screen without being one of those sexy cleavage film cliches. Portman says she had been looking forward to doing another effects film after leaving Star Wars; it's a skill to work with bluescreen, and it's something that you need to practice, so it was fun to do it again with Kenneth Branagh.

7:08 PM: There's a new character, as well, named Darcy - I missed the actress's name. She's apparently a helper/sidekick/protege to Jane. "Look, no one cares about this, no 'wooos' whatsoever. That's all I got." Loki actor, named Tom (sorry, no nameplates here!), says "He's also the agent of chaos, and the jealous younger brother; he could've been the guy, but I haven't got the guns that Chris has". It was fun to play someone who is truly psychological damaged, who you can never tell if he's lying or not. Hmm, they also have the actor who plays the SHIELD agent who found Mjolnir at the end of Iron Man II. Said he actually didn't know what was in New Mexico when he did the scene with Robert Downey Jr. where they talked about it in Iron Man II.

7:13 PM: And here comes some footage, which is in 3D.SHIELD agents investigating the hammer. Thor attacking armed guards from a hospital bed. He's apparenly in some kind of prison. SHIELD guy is wondering where he received that training. Wonders if he's a mercenary, doesn't look like he knows he's Thor yet. "Who are you?" Cut to shot of the whole universe. Hopkins speaking in Asgard. Wow, it's a beautiful city. The space shot implies that it's on another planet. Odin's outfit is pretty rad, lots of gold. Anthony talking about Thor's "arrogance and stupidity". Shadowy looks at some kind of creature, apparently Thor did something that perhaps unlocked a great evil and might've made it possible for them to invade Earth. Odin and Thor are arguing. "You are an old man and a fool!" "You are not worthy of your title! I cast you out!"

Thor gets sucked through a wormhole to Earth; looks like a Contact wormhole.  Shirt's off, he's a good-looking guy that's stranded on Earth. "I come from a place where  science and magic are one and the same". Shot of Thor finding the Mjolnir location. Pulling it from the stone...but no, he doesn't have the power to get it out. Odin dies while Thor is on Earth, Loki takes over. Looks like he's putting together a team to attack Thor on Earth. Fight scenes between Thor and Loki, ends with Thor jumping at the screen, hammer in hand. Shots of New Mexico. Iron Man joke as a huge armored creature lands and starts walking towards a bunch of SHIELD agents. Wow, that looks frightening. Opens up its eyeshields to reveal a hollow chamber; powers up and starts destroying everything. May 2011.

"We have some Don Blake  surprises in this movie." Portman will not be in The Avengers.

Q: Erdos number of Six, I believe, for Portman, says Bob Stencil. Thor's relevance in Pop culture, do you think this speaks to Karl Jung's concept of archetypes, also will Thor smash Loki with a giant hammer and will it totally be sweet? She just giggles. Funny stuff.

Q: Someone just yells "Ed Norton". Kevin says, "He's not here today." "We love consistency and continuity." He actually quotes from Norton's letter, gets some more solid boos sent his way, but he says "The panel's not quite over with."    More footage to come?

Chris says that the hammer got easier to use over the course of filming. Kevin drops that the Punisher is back under the Marvel banner, so they might be doing a new film with him soon. Unfortunately Wolverine is still under the Fox banner, so he won't be making any appearances in any of these films.  Q: What kind of homework did you have to do to get into the character of Thor? A: Kenneth gave him books about men finding their way in life, a ton of comic books, Norse mythology. Any kind of influence that he could. Wasn't a fan of Thor before he got hired, so he had to dive in head first. Q: As far as the action scenes go, was your initial thought that it would be easy, or was it more like 'Jesus H Christ, how am I going to do this on-screen?' A: I had a fantastic team behind me, and that really helped. Thank you all very much, because you guys help allow us to make these films.

But there's one more thing! Sam Jackson talking over a big A. A teaser for the Avengers! Hey, and Sam Jackson is actually here, what a shocker! So is Scarlett Johanson! And Chris Hemsworth! And Chris Evans! And Robert Downey Jr! Jeremy Renner is here as Hawkeye! And Mark  Ruffalo is Bruce Banner! And Joss Whedon is the director! I got it on video, so wait around for that footage! Very excited!

Oh WOW!
That's awesome. I almost made it through the line for Hall H, but for various reasons I couldn't. That sounds spectacular. I'm looking forward to the video.

I really think the whole Ed Norton Hulk rage is some fanboy bullshit. I liked Norton as Hulk, don't get me wrong, but Marvel Studios, even being owned by Disney, still probably doesn't have the scratch to hire both Edward Norton and Robert Downey Jr. not to mention Scarlett Johanson and Sam Jackson (those are the biggest budget names I could think of on this project) for multiple films.

The part I love the most about this is how zonked out Rorie comes off as. If he could find a way to work "Wow, that looks frightening" into every article then my enthusiasm for whatever he's writing about will increase guaranteed!
