I just got back from the midnight showing. thought it was alright. wasn't blow me away awesome but it's a solid effort though. lot of hoke in it but went in expecting and accepting that. i'll give it a B. not spectacular but it will be able to hold it's own and do well enough. I'd say go see it if you are still undecided on it. go with friends though. always more fun that way. especially those that know their comic book lore and also mythology lore as well.

please and thank you- no open spoilers. keep them hidden in spoiler tags in respect for those that haven't seen the movie yet. i know the info is out there already for the movie in full if people really wanna know but courtesy for others never hurts.

I came out of the movie saying it was 4/5 and I pretty much stand by that. It was very enjoyable but it wasn't a masterpiece or anything. I didn't know much about Thor beforehand and I was still able to enjoy it which means they got something right.

3/5 for me. Just a bit too corny for my tastes.

3/5. A solid "not bad" ranking. Enjoyable but not awesome.

I'd say a very good four out of five, I was really pleasantly surprised.

Haven't seen it but people seem to have positive things to say about it. Definitely surprising.

3.5/5

Loki is a satisfyingly complex villain and the acting is pretty good. Was expecting a disaster to be honest.

3/5

The Asgard stuff is pretty great, however the earth parts of the film are pretty dull.

I hate assigning arbitrary numbers, but I liked it a lot. Hemsworth and Stringer Bell were definitely standouts, and I liked the earth stuff, even if the movie as a whole was lighter on action than I expected. The abnormally high frequency of canted angles bugged me though, especially in 3D, since it caused characters to look cut off by the frame in odd ways and didn't really add any style to the proceedings..

I'd give it a score of "highly entertaining."

It gets a solid 4/5 from me. Who would've thought that we'd have two awesome summer blockbusters in a row already?

I give it a solid 3.5/5.

It's not perfect but very it is entertaining. Some of the elements are sloppy (like that whole frost casket thingy) but Hemsworth is so much fun to watch and the Asgard effects are breath-taking.

4/5 most definately.

I felt the shift between Earth and Asgard was a bit disconnecting.  Thor's time on Earth kind of seemed unimportant and everything that happens there was pretty pointless.  There was just something about the pacing that did not sit well with me.  Aside from that I really enjoyed it.  It had a great look to it and the sets were highly detailed.  I liked the characters, especially Thor's band of heroes, although the Earth ones seemed to barely exist.  If it wasn't for the SHIELD part and Coulson, this movie wouldn't have really been a Marvel Universe movie at all.  It really did feel like the origin story, but maybe only like 3/4ths of a movie that needed maybe just a bit more to be a truly great one.

4/5. It beat my expectations with its above-average story, decent acting from Hemsworth, and the Asgardian dialogue was really neat. I understand that it's not "Shakespearean," but it is totally within that context. Overall not mind-blowing, mind you, but a good showing.
