Film adaption of former MI6 operative John le Carre's novel of the same name. After the discovery of a mole in the top ranks of the intelligence service, the newly retired George Smiley is called back by the Minister to root out the mole before any more damage is done.
Michael Fassbender was at one point going to play Ricky Tarr, but dropped out because he was busy filming X-Men: First Class. He was replaced by Tom Hardy.

Overview
Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy is a slow paced espionage thriller set in the 1970's, during the hight of the cold war between East and West. It is directed by Tomas Alfredson, his first English film, and is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Robyn Slovo. It is based on the 1974 novel of the same name by John le Carré and was adapted for the screen by Bridget O'Connor and Peter Straughan.
