I like Torchwood, it just suffers from trying to be really edgy all the time. That said I always liked the cast, and Captain Jack Harkness might be one of my favorite sci-fi characters ever. I am really looking forward to Miracle Day.

The third season was the best one so far. I'm actually really looking forward to the fourth season, even if they Americanized it a bit.

@Alex If you almost cried during season 2, then Children of Earth will make you it's bitch. I cried so freaking hard... I don't get the whole "This show is too gay, so I can't watch it" mentality some people have, I don't look at a series or movie and go "OMG, this is too hetero so I'm not going to watch it". Maybe that's just me and I can enjoy entertainment for what it is, entertainment.

Yeah really, I don't see whats the problem with seeing dudes kissing on the show. There is plenty of women too. I actually like Gwen a little to much haha. Then again I was 16 when the show started airing. D: Good times.

@MjHealy: Why would you skip the older stuff?

When I first watched the show I found the episode "Country-cide" surprisingly dark for TV. From then on was very intrigued.

I really like Torchwood, I just love Doctor Who more because it's more ambitious. The same guy used to run both shows, and his season-ending storylines in Doctor Who were INSANE. Basically, for 5 straight years, Davies just set out to threaten Earth with its destruction in crazier and grander fashions. By comparison, Torchwood is more mature, which means it's also less ambitious and crazy. Which is OK by me, but just not as fun.

But yes, I am a huge Captain Jack fan, and he is a great character that even if I don't like anything else in the show, I always love him.

Kind of annoying that we have to include disclaimers about "the occasional bout of man-on-man make-out action". Really shouldn't matter by now.

Alright, I might have to actually watch this. If for no other reason than to form any opinion of it.
