Did you guys see it already? Check it out:

Looks pretty cool, aesthetically at least. What do you guys think?

I dont know I like me some Colin Farrell and your right it does look good to look at but Len Wisemen as a director just throws me off a bit, granted I did like Die Hard 4.0.

Len Wiseman is the poor man's Paul W S Anderson. Sad but true. I wish I liked this movie, but it looks SUPER boring and derivative. I like that they're claiming that it's more faithful to the original story, when it is so obviously just everything from the Verhoeven movie given a high gloss.

Eh, Total Recall is awesome because it's borderline a B sci-fi movie. This takes away, seemingly, a lot of the personality of the original film.

Yup it looks good to look at it but all that I'm seeing is just another basic sci-fi action flick.

This seems way to serious to me. Maybe because the original had Arnie in it or just hasn't aged that well it always had a bit of humor to it. This one seems kind of like a generic sci-fi action movie.

But on the other hand Kate Beckinsale.

@Mr_skeleton: Touche. You can win most arguments that way, even if Beckinsale wasn't involved.

I think it looks pretty stylish and I quite like stylish. That doesn't equal quality though so it will probably be a Paris Hilton. Aesthetically pleasing perhaps, but completely vacuous beyond that.

Why couldn't Jessica Biel be the evil one instead of Kate Beckinsale? I like this movie less now... :(

@Mr_skeleton: No, Kate Beckinsale doesn't make it okay! I SAW THE UNDERWORLD MOVIES I KNOW THIS TRAP

Post by MrMazz (1,548 posts) See mini bio

@litrock: its only a trap if you expect the movie to be good in the way movies are thought of. As a exercise in watching Kate Beckinsale strut around in tight clothing while blowing various creatures away it could be oscar worthy.

You know what, that actually looked pretty good, though the fact that I haven't seen the original might be influencing my views a bit.

Also, that.

@rem25: True. But now we get to see Kate Beckinsale as a villain - that hasn't happened before. Could be interesting to see how that turns out.

I'm not a big fan of Len Wiseman, I think he is okay at best.. but the trailer and the aesthitecs in it actually look pretty great..

At leas we have Brian Cranston and Bill Nighy.. Although I did wish that Bill Nighy's face came out of Brian Cranston's chest that would be a worthy remake
