Whale Rider meets Braveheart in this curious-looking next film from Pixar. Oh, and kilt jokes.

Weird thing to say, but I'm fascinated by the hair animation. Rather beautifully done.
Looks interesting, still have some concerns.
Finally a return to the real Pixar many of us love - unique one off stories focused on characters and story than selling toys and sequels.
Hmmm. I've been ridiculously excited for ages, but the debut trailer doesn't do too much for me.
Pixar's most Disney-esque film yet?
Excited for this one. Now if only we could get a Marvel/Pixar Movie...
That was a pretty generic trailer, I still have my hopes it'll be great but that seemed very Dreamworkish if you ask me. Also the plot seems a lot like Mulan,,,
But... they wont be able to sell toys... or on second thought yeah the totally will be able to, maybe a theme park ride as well.
It'll be interesting to see how this will turn out. Ironically, it's one of the few times Dreamworks has done a concept and Pixar is following suit, it's usually the other way around. Considering how great How to Train Your Dragon was, Pixar has its work cut for them, especially after Cars 2. But getting a primarily all Scottish cast is a step in the right direction (that bothered me with HTYD when the adults were Scottish and the kids were American).
Is it just me or does this seem like How to Train Your Dragon without the dragons?

I'll watch this movie for that hair alone.
I hate hearing Scottish accents in anything tv/movie related and i'm from Scotland.
@CyleMoore: I also got that vibe, big time. ill still watch it.
@RockinKemosabe:
Are you sure they decide to make this film because of How to Train your Dragon?
I'm excited for it. I don't think Pixar lost it's mojo with Cars and Cars 2, they just needed to get back to doing what they love. None of the accents bothered me except for the main girl's. Maybe I don't know what the accent is supposed to sound like, but it sounded like her's was more forced than anyone else's.
@Moviemaniac: No, I'm not. Like Pixar did a fish movie with Finding Nemo in 2003 and Dreamworks released Shark Tale in 2004. So Pixar usually gets their movie out first and then Dreamworks comes out a year or two later. But it's the other way around this time, which is ironic. Though you could speculate that someone working at Disney found out that Dreamworks was working on a viking movie and said that they should do a viking movie too. That's not my opinion though.
Looks like Pixar at its finest i.e a somewhat superficial moral and plot combinied with a great cast of likeable characters interacting with oneanother in a breathtaking and greatly realished world. looking forward to it.
daamn that hair is soo pretty looking
But then again, neither did Up, really, and that turned out to be wonderful.
nice to see a pixar film with a strong female lead, the absence of which in their previous films i always thought was odd
Are they making this to shift negative attention away from Cars 2?
Pixar can do no wrong... but I am still hessitant about this story.
