Trailer 2: John Carter

This looks like some ridiculous mashup of Attack of the Clones, Stargate, and Wild Wild West. Will it be good? We'll find out in March!

The acting seems kinda meh but goddammit if the CGI isn't bloody beautifull. No wonder this movie cost so much to make

Eh.....

EnSabacon Dec. 1, 2011 at 7:43 a.m.

It sure looks pretty, but I think I can wait for the DVD.

Linkster7on Dec. 1, 2011 at 7:50 a.m.

This seems incredibly stupid.

Naxwellon Dec. 1, 2011 at 8:01 a.m.

@Linkster7:

You can't make a movie based on John Carter and not make it stupid.

monoceros4on Dec. 1, 2011 at 8:20 a.m.

Cabot! Cabot! Cabot! I mean...Carter! Carter! Carter!

Also I wonder how much they had to pay to use a few bars of "Kashmir".

Sammo21on Dec. 1, 2011 at 8:40 a.m.

Nothing about this looks like Wild Wild West

I am also amused to hear that this series, which started more in science fiction/sword and planet genre than people know, is now being described as ripping off other movies.

RockinKemosabeon Dec. 1, 2011 at 8:49 a.m.

John Carter of Mars was basically Star Wars before Star Wars existed.

MrWrighton Dec. 1, 2011 at 8:58 a.m.

I can honestly say that I had never heard of John Cater before the talk of the movie and nothing in the trailer above has made me think I need to see it. Currently feeling indifferent towards it.

I think Edgar Rice Burroughs would've been happy with this movie if he was alive today, it makes me want to buy the original books.
MrMazzon Dec. 1, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.

This looks utterly soul less at least they didnt go for some 30 seconds to mars song

contemporationon Dec. 1, 2011 at 9:34 a.m.

I'm not sensing any heart, but it looks pretty.

Mr_skeletonon Dec. 1, 2011 at 10:25 a.m.

I hope the CG isn't done yet because that did not look good.

bayneon Dec. 1, 2011 at 10:38 a.m.

This trailer seems to have a very different tone compared to the last one. This one is a lot more star wars while the first one seemed to focus more on the fact that John Carter was a cowboy now in space. I dunno this is confusing me. I see potential for something maybe a little clever thou this trailer says otherwise.

takeoffyourpantsandjacketon Dec. 1, 2011 at 11:26 a.m.

So was that Mark Strong as the bad guy? That's a stretch for him.

gpbmike staff on Dec. 1, 2011 at 12:53 p.m.

He sure can jump high.

DeathByYetion Dec. 1, 2011 at 2:04 p.m.

i kind of liked the first trailer and now i kind of despise the idea of this film. Marketing!

CommanderZx2on Dec. 1, 2011 at 2:07 p.m.

It looks like Planet Hulk, but a human playing the part of Hulk.

AnxiousTubeon Dec. 1, 2011 at 3:42 p.m.

I don't know I kinda like the look of this film, I think it may have some potential.
