Seems fine, I guess. Paranorman still looks way better.

maurdakaron March 2, 2012 at 2:58 p.m.

Burton said he really wanted to do this film. I hope that enthusiasm translates into awesome direction.

All that was running through my mind as I was watching this trailer was how much it looked like an extended Puffs Plus tissue commercial.

StealthMaster86on March 2, 2012 at 3:25 p.m.

Looks to be Tim Burton's child friendly love letter to old horror classics. Could be good.

Protomeon March 2, 2012 at 3:29 p.m.

I'm pretty hyped for this one.

LiquidSwordson March 2, 2012 at 3:34 p.m.

Hey look, black and white stripes

Vincemasteron March 2, 2012 at 4:03 p.m.

Eh...? I'm kind of over Time Burton, this could be okay though...

Mr_skeletonon March 2, 2012 at 4:35 p.m.

I really like Tim's dark children movies (not the Alice "dark" movie though).

LokitheNightlordon March 2, 2012 at 5:01 p.m.
This film to me has definite potential. Firstly, it'll be Tim Burton's first film in a while that doesn't star Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter (I like both actors but it's nice to see new faces in a Burton film), and secondly, it's based on a short film he already made so he surely can't fuck up doing the same film again. My only gripe with the trailer is that they call Burton the director of Alice in Wonderland; which I know is true but seriously, of all the films he should be known for, Alice in Wonderland is his worst. It'd be like if the next Spielberg film trailer says "from Steven Spielberg, director of Hook".

Everything. Everything is wrong with Hook.

snake_runneron March 2, 2012 at 5:54 p.m.

Black and white cinematography? Stop motion animation? Creepy but fun atmosphere? NOT starring either Johnny Depp or Helena Boham Carter? Could 90's Tim Burton finally be back? Please say it is so!

MariachiMacabreon March 2, 2012 at 6:57 p.m.

Burton's stop motion is the best stop motion. I'm stoked for this one.

LaserLamberton March 2, 2012 at 7:35 p.m.

Most exciting part of this trailer... Cathrine O'Hare

KJon March 2, 2012 at 8:55 p.m.

Beck!

Gold_Skulltullaon March 2, 2012 at 9:31 p.m.

@LaserLambert: you're right about the name, but Frankenweenie is the dog, which was a bull terrier in the original short so I'm guessing that's what they were going for here. I really loved the original short as a kid.

Vonocourton March 2, 2012 at 10:13 p.m.

Well Tim Burton, you made me interested in one of your films again, especially after being so dismissive when I first heard of this remake. Good job.

I would have put in "From Tim Burton; The Director of The Corpse Bride"
