Wait, a movie based on a fable, but with a dark and grown-up sensibility? I've never seen anything like it!

A retelling of the classic "Jack and the Beanstalk" tale.
I saw the Rifftrax for the original "Jack the Giant Killer" a month or two ago. That movie didn't hold up very well, so I'm all for this. However, they look nothing alike.
This looks terrible.
This looks horrendously bad like the chipmunks might be bad but they have shtick whats this?
I'll wager Lee Boardman dies in this.
A little bit of fairy tale + a little bit of Lord of the Rings = Money?
I was really expecting that to end with "fe-fi-fo-fum"
Seriously? An angsty gritty version of Jack and the Beanstalk?
Thanks for putting the ending in the title, freaking hollywood.
wait did that really just say 'Directed by Bryan Singer'? Or is my man flu messing with my eyes?
Man, Jack of Fables is gonna be pissed when he sees who they cast as him. And isn't this supposed to be his third movie?
Wow...they could also make a movie about Snow White, and mak the dwarves into a bunch of bloodthirsty warriors with a huge battle in the end.....oh...this one's already being made....
Well how about alice in wonderland...on acid...but also with a huge battle in the end....
Yeah...because every fairytale should bes spiced up with somm mass-fighting-sequences...
I think this looks cool. There's a little too much "300 flavor" in the trailer, but that's understandable as this is how you market movies these days. But tonally, it looks almost more like an 80's or 90's fantasy movie, like Willow. Or, really, a mix between a modern by-the-numbers Hollywood film and something special like Willow. So I'm hopeful for this. It looks good.
There are too many jaded buttholes who immediately dismiss everything these days. What the fuck do you want from films? It's not like Bryan Singer is bringing you Alvin & the Chipmunks 4 or Glee: the 3D Concert Again. This is just like when the trailer for Real Steel came out; Screened.com's community was, like, 90% idiots dismissing on absolutely no basis and 10% people who saw it to be the cool, good movie it turned out. It's too early to call Jack the Giant Killer for sure, but it honestly doesn't look bad. You have to be a truly rotten person to be that hateful ALREADY.
Disappointing it didn't end with Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum.
Kinda. It's actually a remake: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056112/
Sure, whatever. I hope your not expecting me to see it in the theater.
