I can't say I've seen much Australian cinema, but the few I have seen, such as The Proposition and Animal Kingdom (The mighty Guy Pearce is the reason I saw both) let me know that there are some real gems down under.
This looks like it could be another.
This seems like film I would be interested in, but the trailer didn't really do much for me.
Seems really interesting, going to check this out if it opens near LA.
This is an extremely depressing and horrifying film. It is not action orientated but just a very grim look at humanity. Definitely get out and see it if you can.
"Wayward teen" is a little misleading in my opinion and it was also just known as "Snowtown" here in Australia.
@Funky_Pasta_Tommy: I would like to recommend "Chopper" for you to watch starring Eric Bana. By far his best performance and a fascinating character to watch. Again it is Australian crime movie but it's not what you would expect.
Seen it already, when it was called Animal Kingdom.
I suppose it's worth a rent.
@Funky_Pasta_Tommy:
A good film to check out if you are seeking a bit more Aussie cinema is "The Interview" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120714/.
Again a crime story based in Melbourne (we do those quite well) but, as the title hints at, based around the interview of a suspect. Worth a watch.
