Is this show just Twilight?

Ok, I have no idea what True Blood is like. I have never watched the show, but I was wondering, what is the show like? From affar it just looks like Twilight or something. Can someone explain please? I am going to maybe jump into it, if its good. I am hoping for an adult show. Then the tween Twilight crap.

It's classical vampires in a modern setting. So lots of boning and killing and other good stuff.

I see it as what heroes should of been. 
Or Vampires crossed with X-Men

I haven't seen it, but it like it's much darker and more mature.

From what I know about Twilight, True Blood is nothing like it. It's pretty violent, and has a lot of boobs. A must see.

All my friends love Trueblood and I could NOT be more bored by it. The same goes for Entourage. If people like them cool, but i just dont get it.

It's not Twilight, but it does center around a human-vampire relationship.  I don't see that as "being Twilight" since Buffy The Vampire Slayer revolved around the same plot point back in it's day for the first two or three seasons. 
 
The vampires are ferocious, the cast is sexy, the characters are entertaining, the show is ultra-violent at times, and all-together it'sincredibly refreshing.

I really enjoy True Blood, I'm excited to watch the third season.  
Having never wanted to see or read Twilight I cannot comment on comparisons.

It's a lot like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodline. Not anything like Twilight.

It may have the gore and the boobs going for it but IMO it's just as nauseating and eye-roll-inducing as Twilight.
